Covid 19

Due to the ongoing Covid 19 pandemic, we currently offer a flexible approach to our cancellation policy should you not be able to travel due to travel restrictions, which are as follows:

*A change in dates.

If you need to cancel your holiday for any other reason, we strongly advise you to take out travel insurance, and read our policy below.

Cancellations and Changes

Once made, payments are non refundable and reservation dates cannot be changed. However, if we manage to fill your reservation, or part of your reservation, we will refund you the difference. The booking deposit is not refundable. We recommend you take out travel insurance to cover for unforeseen circumstances. We reserve the right to cancel your stay at short notice if unexpected circumstances arise. In this case, we will refund you the cost of your stay in full or offer you an alternative date.

Property Booking

You promise that you will arrive at and leave the Property at the dates and times in the Booking (unless you notify us otherwise and we agree the same in advance). Your Accommodation will not be available at any time outside of the times reserved by you. We reserve the right to make a reasonable additional charge (whether by retaining the damage deposit or otherwise) in the event that you have not left the Property by the agreed departure time.

We endeavour to keep our photographs and other imagery as up to date as possible, any illustrations, photographs and other imagery displayed on the website are for illustrative purposes only and subject to change.

Any activities suggested by us on the website, are not owned by us, and should be booked via the relevant owners direct website.

Internet/Telephone

Broadband internet access is offered at Tangier Quay. However, this is on the basis that we can not promise that the service will be available constantly and that it is provided for recreational and not for business use. Neither a minimum speed, unrestricted bandwidth nor uninterrupted provision of an internet access service can be guaranteed and we will not be held liable for any form of compensation or expenses claimed by any guest in respect of the provision of internet services or telephone services not being available or failing.

Damage Deposit

You shall take proper care of Tangier Quay and its contents during your stay. You may lose your cautionary deposit and/or receive an invoice for any damage caused or loss suffered if the Property and its contents are not left in the same state in which it is found at the beginning of the Accommodation. A damage deposit of £200 must be paid prior to your arrival at Tangier Quay Guests are responsible for the costs of extra cleaning, breakage or damage to the cottage which are caused by them or their party. These costs will be deducted from your £200 deposit, but are not limited to that amount. You may be billed for repairs that cost over £200. Any damage incurred by you or your party must be reported immediately to the owners. If there are no damages to report, the deposit balance will be returned to you within seven days of your departure. In case of damage, the balance will be returned as soon as the issue has been paid for.

Privacy Policy

Your data is safe and secure with us. We will never sell your data to third parties. We will always ask for your consent and will only contact you regarding your booking, an enquiry you’ve made with us, or if you’ve signed up to receive more information and offers.We will remove your data from our systems at your request. You can opt out of receiving future communication at any time by contacting Melanie: enquiries@tangierquaycornwall.com You are probably aware of the new EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), designed to protect citizens from privacy and data breaches. Our policy updates are fully compliant with these regulations and by continuing to use the Tangier Quay website you agree to these updates.

Use of property

Only the agreed number of guests may stay at the property. We do not accept young children and toddlers, babes in arms only are accepted (under 8 months of age). Under no circumstances can the property be used in a commercial manner, no large gatherings and no parties.

Extreme weather

Unfortunately we cannot issue a refund if extreme weather prevents you from travelling so we recommend you take out relevant holiday insurance to cover for this eventuality.

Fair usage policy

Usage of electricity which the owner deems to be excessive will be charged at our discretion. Missing towels will be charged at £20 per towel. We reserve the right to charge for extra cleaning if the cottage is left in an unreasonable condition.

Fire risk

Smoking inside the cottage is strictly prohibited. When lighting the wood burner, please stay with the fire for as long as it is running, do not leave the property with the wood burner still alight.

Complaints and issues

Please inform us of any issues straight away. We will deal with them as quickly as possible. If a serious problem arises that we cannot resolve by the evening, we will book you into alternative accommodation of a similar standard.

Right to evict

The owner reserves the right to evict guests without compensation in the case of anti-social behaviour, unreasonable breakages, if smoking restrictions are not observed, if visitors are causing a fire risk, if the accommodation is being misused, or if there is a breach of these terms and conditions.

Tenancy

The agreement is for the reservation period only and is not intended to create the relationship of landlord and tenant between the visitor and the owner. The visitor shall not be entitled to a tenancy, or to any assured shorthold or assured tenancy or any statutory protection under the Housing Act 1988 or other statutory security of tenure now or upon termination of the agreement.

Lost keys

Should you lose the keys to the boathouse there is a replacement fee of £10.

Accidents, injury and personal property

The owner has no liability to you for the death or personal injury to you or any member of your party. We suggest you take out travel insurance to cover you for personal injury during your stay. We are not responsible for any loss, damage or theft to your personal property during your stay.

Right of entry

We reserve the right to enter the property to inspect it or carry out necessary repairs or maintenance during your stay. We will of course arrange this at a time convenient to you.
